Carl H. Fortna, DVMOwner, VeterinarianDr. Fortna graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1991 and earned his veterinary degree from Cornell University in 1995. After graduation, he practiced in Berks County until joining Highland in 2001. He currently resides in Berks County with his wife Suzanne, raising four children and enjoying the company of their Golden Retriever “Remy”. Outside of work he enjoys Penn State football, gardening, reading, and Shoofly pie. Dr. Fortna is a second generation veterinarian following in his father Dr. David H. Fortna, Sr.’s footsteps.

Brandon Mattson, DVMOwner, VeterinarianDr. Mattson was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin. He obtained his bachelor's degree in biology from Brigham Young University. He earned his Masters in Preventive Medicine concurrently with his veterinary degree from Iowa State University. After his schooling at Iowa State, he completed a small animal internship at the University of Illinois. Prior to joining Highland Animal Hospital in 2012 he was employed in Northeast Pennsylvania at an emergency and referral hospital. At home, Dr. Mattson, his wife, and four children take care of their Cairn Terrier, Mimbi and their two rats Zinnia and Dahlia. Outside of work he enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and woodworking. You might not have guessed but Dr. Mattson is a true Cheesehead from Wisconsin.
